Shoot #4: Forest

Shoot 4 of 5: I envisioned this shoot to be straight out of a fairytale: a huntsman with his lady. When I saw my models arrive decked out in their costumes, I was thrilled! My model stylist read my mind exactly: the guy had his rugged, textured look; and the gal had on her pixie skirt and loose blouse. Perfect. But the pressure was on, because I actually got to scene style this shoot myself — which turned out to be buckets of fun. Here’s the inspiration board I came up with:

My photographer took us to a pretty park that had a woodsy feel to it, but let more light filter in than your average forest. Unfortunately, it started to rain that day, and it got so bad at one point that we had to call it quits. Rain and stationery do not mix too well. Bummer. At least while the rain held up, we got some pretty pictures in…

Last weekend I threw my little sis a surprise bridal shower (yes, we managed to actually surprise her!) and I spent the day before the bash making lots of tassels to deck the shower out with. I decided to share the project with you since it’s quite fun and so easy to do. I shared the tutorial on Dearest Nature yesterday, so make sure you stop by there to check it out…

I’ll also be sharing photos of how I decked out the rest of the bridal shower tomorrow on the blog. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen a little sneak peek, but get ready to see more!

Shoot #3: Field

Shoot 3 of 5: For this shoot, I wanted something very organic and freeing. What’s better than a field? You can frolic barefoot. Have crazy wild hair. And it all just fits in perfect with the personality a field has. Imperfection. Here’s the inspiration board I gave to my stylists:

It was, by far, my most favorite shoot. Not only did it bring back good memories from my very first promo shoot (we shot at the same location), but some of my most favorite pieces are featured in this shoot. And yes, the styling is incredible. Can’t forget about that.

Shoot #2: Garden

Shoot 2 of 5: The garden is a classy place. I’m not talking about the kind where you grow your tomatoes, but more like the kind where you grow your roses. Below is the inspiration board I sent to the folks who helped me put this shoot together. A simple sort of glamour is what I wanted for the whole shoot to feel like and I think that’s what we got.

My photographer took the crew up to the Queen Anne neighborhood in the Seattle area and I think I found my dream place to live. Such gorgeous homes and gardens! The homeowners were nice enough to let us shoot on their front porches and in their yards. Such luck!
