Gift Wrap: 3D Love Hearts

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and for those of you who have yet to wrap up the gift you’re giving to your love, here’s a fun one. I had a bunch of hearts left over from a previous project, so I decided to use them for this plus some fun dotted paper. I am kind of obsessed with dots at this point as you may have noticed since my last gift wrap idea had dots too. I think they add so much playfulness to everything.

So this gift was wrapped in dotted paper and then I secured some mounting tape onto the back of some paper hearts and applied them on top of the wrapped gift. Four of the hearts spelled out “love.” This can be achieved by using letter punches or an exacto knife.

Some say that pink, red, and purple are very cliche when it comes to Valentine’s Day, but sometimes I think we all need a little cliche…

A Foggy Love Shoot

I remember my middle school days and my teen years, dreaming about one day finding the man I’m going to marry (and marry him, of course). When that time came, I remember thinking during my engagement period that my wedding day will never come. It felt like eternity waiting for that day and it was always ‘not today.’ So many emotions, so much joy and fear at the same time, and then boom — I was married. It’s been nearly four years since and I still find myself in awe of how things come and go, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. The anticipation of getting married was slow going, but married life is fast going. I almost just want to hit the pause button to take it all in. Thank you, God, for all these things you’ve brought into my life, both the slow ones and the fast ones.

Recently, the husband and I had a little love shoot to commemorate our four years together (yes, we’re just a tad bit early on that one). We had Yuriy and Julia of The Manchiks capture photos for us in freezing fog and I can’t believe how awesome these photos look. I can’t stop going over them. You can see more over on their blog as well.

DIY: A Fancy Valentine

When my husband and I were still engaged, I put together a little book of all the things I loved about him instead of giving him a card. I loved seeing his face as he flipped through the pages, either smiling and laughing out loud at the bizarre things I managed to put in there. And because it was such a special thing for us, I decided to share with you how to make one yourself.

1   Cut out little pieces of paper sized at 2½” x 2″, hole punch them, pull a pretty ribbon through and tie a bow.

2   On the front page, write “I love…” to begin the adventure.

3   Write out all the things that you love about your sweetheart.

4   Fill a kraft box will tissue paper confetti and place the book inside.

5   Stamp a huge heart on the lid of the box, add some glitter, and voila!
