Not every custom card of mine goes crazy with lots of detail. When a custom order for a baptism congratulations card came through, I had one simple idea: the fellow standing in water wearing a traditional baptism robe. And yes, congratulations Paul!

Galina + Max are two of my good friends. Their one-year anniversary just passed and Galina ordered this custom card to give to Max. Inspired by their actual wedding (you’ll find photos of that via here), I recreated the ceremony site decor, her dress, and his suit — but of course in paper form. And added a sign post with the reason for such a card.

Wedding Stationery: Pink Rose

A formal wedding requires formal stationery. This couple went very classy with theirs. With gray and pink as the color palette, the bride wanted something simple, yet fancy — something formal, yet sweet. I drew up pink roses for her and put a scalloped diamond background on the back of each piece. The sweet touch? The love verse from 1 Corinthians printed on the backside of the invitation.

This suite was printed on smooth ivory paper, tied up with silver-gray ribbon, and paired up with a subtle shimmering ivory-rose envelope. And don’t forget to watch their super cute wedding video above!

For the reception pieces, the bride opted to do many of them on her own, but I did get to work on the menu, place cards, and table numbers. These were printed on smooth white paper instead of the ivory to match the white tablecloths, but the general look stayed the same.

Wedding Stationery: Put A Bird On It

My sister’s wedding invitations, I got to say, were just adorable. I made her a custom inspiration palette when she was just getting ready to plan her big day, and later on, it was fun to draw up stationery inspired by that same thing. We agreed early on that the design would include a bird or two, but the emphasis would be on mixing up type. Printed on smooth white paper with mint and gray inks, we tied up the lot with mint baker’s twine and kraft envelopes.

Once the wedding pictures are done, I’ll put up some more of the paper goods that I didn’t take pictures of.

The programs were flip book style, with the schedule and two hymns inside. I had my mother sew the pieces together — and it was her very first time. She was so nervous at first, but they didn’t turn out half bad for a first timer. I suppose her many years of sewing clothes helped.

We also had some wish tags — where the guests were able to leave little wishes behind for the newlyweds, then pin them up on a line with mini clothespins painted mint.
