Custom Card: Beautification

This custom card was fun to assemble. A gal ordered this to thank a makeup artist for her services. This card shows the make up artist herself putting on lipstick (that part was soooo incredibly hard to put together), beautifying herself just as she would one of her clients.

Custom Card: Portland to Seattle

This custom card shows the story of a long-distance relationship. He lives in Portland and she lives in Seattle. Yes, that tree is the divider between realms. On his side, it’s the city of Portland with Mt. Hood; on her side of the tree, it’s Seattle with the Space Needle.

The story behind this card is adorable — that even though they can’t be around each other all the time, they still find time to be “together.” Here they are sitting under a tree reading the same book and thinking of each other…

Custom Card: Fruit of Love

This was one of the custom cards I made for Valentine’s Day. The gal and her sweetheart are both health nuts (in all the best sense). She wanted to have a bowl of heart-shaped strawberries to convey that, plus a bible text on the inside. So I drew up a bowl of heart-shaped strawberries mixed up with regular looking strawberries, gave them some texture with puff glue and stuck a toothpick in one with a “love you” flag.

The inside was the most clever, I thought. The gal wanted to put Galations 5:22 there: “…the fruit of the Spirit is love…” How adorable is that? Love how she wanted to include God in her card, since He is the source of love.

Custom Card: A Wedding Planner’s Desk

Some months ago, I got to put together a set of custom cards that someone wanted to send to wedding vendors that he wanted to connect with, namely wedding planners and coordinators. The challenge was to create something that would work for both sexes, so I tried really hard to steer away from general wedding themes. Therefore, I had more fun with this than I had anticipated.

At the end of my brainstorming session, I put together what the desk space of a wedding planner/coordinator might look like — a journal, a checklist, pencils, scratch paper, a cup of coffee, and even a color swatch book that you can actually flip through!

Custom Card: Mr. Usenko

This card is one my favorites I’ve ever had to make because it’s of my good friend, Daniel Usenko. Custom ordered by someone to thank Daniel for his help, I found it to be so amusing to finally put him in paper form since he has been one of my biggest motivators in my stationery business — and I never once thought of thanking him by cutting him out of paper myself. Why does someone else always come up with the best ideas?! His paper self is all dressed up in one of his signature outfits — a gingham shirt, black shorts, and his New York Yankees cap.
