Gift Wrap: Desert Cactus

Fabric can be a fun way to gift wrap. When I came across this tribal print one, I was instantly in love. Here’s what you need to recreate this look:

Square kraft box
Geometric/tribal patterned fabric (I picked up mine from Mood Fabrics)
Gold glitter string
Green paper in a shade matching your chosen fabric

Scissors
1/16″ hole punch

Cut out a square piece of fabric. The piece should be big enough so that the edge flaps overlap each other generously. Pull each of the four corners together, pull it tight, and secure with a piece of the glitter string. Next, find a shape of a cactus that you like and cut out that shape out from your green paper. Punch a hole and loop some more glitter string through it. Secure to your wrapped gift. I thought about adding some glittery touches to the cactus cutout, but opted to keep it simple since the fabric already had enough pop. If your chosen fabric is simpler, decorating the cactus would definitely be a fun touch!

Gift Wrap: Simple Valentine

Not all gift wrapping should be complicated. Many times, it’s just easier to buy something readymade than make it all yourself. Today’s gift wrap is Valentine related and super duper simple. Here’s what you need:

Kraft box
White wrapping paper
Gold dot white velvet ribbon
Glittered wood tag
Gold string

Tape
Scissors

After your box is wrapped in the wrapped paper, tie the ribbon around the box and secure the gift tag with the gold string. What can be more easy than that? I just added these glittered tags into the shop. You can choose from four patterns and two glitter sizes. Hooray!

Gift Wrap: Heart Confetti

With Valentine’s Day coming up, let’s get you started thinking about wrapping that gift to your love. Hearts are a basic staple ingredient when it comes to valentine’s gift wrap, and this one is full of it. Here’s what you need to recreate this look:

Kraft box
White mulberry wrapping paper (the one I used had flecks of silver tinsel woven in, how pretty!)
Red, pink, and white tissue paper (my pink and white had silver confetti embedded in, which made it look more fun)
White glitter velvet ribbon

ModPodge
Foam brush
Small heart paper punch (mine)
Tape
Scissors

Start by punching out lots of heart confetti from the three colors of tissue paper. Vary the amounts of each color to your style. Once done, wrap your boxed gift in the mulberry paper and secure with tape. Dip your foam brush into the ModPodge and apply a thin layer across the top of your wrapped gift. I chose to do a diagonal sweep to showcase the pretty mulberry paper, but where you want the hearts is all up to you. Next, scatter your tissue hearts on top and pat down to secure. Shake off any loose ones and then repeat with another layer of hearts. Once the hearts dry, knot a piece of the ribbon on top. If you want, you can slide a translucent mini envelope with a card inside under the ribbon.

Wedding Stationery: Simply Type

This wedding was simply stunning and the bride and groom looked incredible. I’ve mentioned my mentor (the one who got me started and on my feet) quite a few times — and well, this was his wedding. That made it especially sweet to me. For the couple’s wedding stationery, we did simply black type on cream paper and paired the pieces with black + gray envelopes lined with shimmery liners. Not pictured is the gold dotted washi tape and metallic gold + black twine that embellished the sealed product.

Oh, and guess what? You can actually customize this invitation suite for your own wedding via my Shop. That’s how much I loved how it all turned out.

Gift Wrap: Glittered Holly Leaves

Gold glitter will always be Christmas’ good friend — and holly. To recreate this look, you’ll need:

Kraft box
Pale gold wrapping paper
Faux silk holly
Chunky gold glitter
Fine gold glitter
Gold Sharpie
Red + gold ribbon
Gold glitter string

Mounting tape
ModPodge
Scissors
Tape

Trim a two-piece leaf section from your silk holly. Apply ModPodge over the top of each leaf, glittering one leaf with the chunky glitter and the other with the fine glitter. Let dry overnight.

Meantime, wrap your gift in the wrapping paper and wind the ribbon around it three times. Secure in the back with a small knot. Once the glittered leaves are dry, take your Sharpie and doodle over the plastic stem until what was once green is now a pretty gold. Cut strips of mounting tape and place on the backside of each leaf, then adhere the leaves onto the wrapped gift. Tie a piece of glitter string on the stem and you’re done!
