Summer is full on and all graduation parties have ended — and I’m only now getting around to sharing this custom card with you. A wife ordered this for her husband who is going through the tough path of getting his doctor’s degree and just wrapped up one leg of his journey…

Wedding Stationery: Wine Bottle

The wedding stationery I designed for Tyler + Leah was one of my personal favorites of this year. I love the simple elegance the suite holds. You might remember their save the dates that I posted earlier on, the Anthropologie inspired ones. This stationery suite was printed on smooth creamy-toned paper with black and gray inks. We pulled some of the design off their save the dates to create an overlapping texture for the backs of each piece. And since the couple was married at a vineyard in California, a wine bottle graced the back flap of their envelopes.

Update: Oh, and guess what? You can actually customize this invitation suite for your own wedding via my Shop. That’s how much I loved how it all turned out.

For the wedding day itself, I put together some signs for the reception to help bring the stationery theme into the wedding. The photos below were taken by my friends, the lovely Emik + Yana of iDropPhoto. I also attached one of the photos of the bride and groom that I pulled off their blog; you can see the full post here.

Summer is finally in full gear around here. The rain seems to have disappeared and I’m loving the constant warmth that’s surrounding me. Inspired by all the colorful cheer going all, I have another DIY tutorial for you over on Dearest Nature. I was recently asked to show how to make a pop-up flower for a card without the use of a digital cutting machine, so that’s what you’re going to be seeing. So head on over!

Wedding Stationery: Spring Bouquet

This past spring, one of my brides finally got to marry her dream man — and only now am I finally getting around to sharing the stationery suite with you that I got to make for this happy couple. My good friend Daniel Usenko captured their wedding day, and below are some of my favorite shots that I pulled from his blog. Simply beautiful. (You should go check out the rest here.)

The couple’s wedding style was very sweet and organic. We drew up a tousled bouquet of pinks, purples, peach, and yellow-ivory; then printed the whole suite on creme linen paper:

The save the dates were postcard style. The invitation was tied up in a bow of blush satin ribbon and plum bakers twine, then paired up with a brown kraft envelope. The pieces for the reception included escort and place cards, a mad libs card for every guest, as well as what we soon started calling “quote cards.” The bride and her sister spent years collecting love quotes that they adored, and decided to personalize the wedding by including them. I chose only two of the quotes to showcase here, but the bride chose more than twenty to print. Of course, my two chosen quotes were by Shakespeare and Mark Twain, two literary geniuses. Loved those!
