perfect husband // custom paper layered card by Anastasia Marie

You might remember a card similar to this one that I shared on the blog a while back, but when there are plenty of husbands that are adored by their wives, you get to repeat it again and again. This one is for a five-year wedding anniversary where the wife wanted to thank her husband for being perfect. This card shows the husband juggling just a few of the things he loves and/or has been involved in since the wedding day.

Gift Wrap: Simple Sequins

gift wrap: simple sequins // by ANASTASIA MARIE

Every now and then, I like to share super simple gift wrap ideas that don’t involve much creative brain power. Today’s gift wrap idea is using gorgeous wrapping paper with sequins. Here’s what you need:

Kraft box
Blend of gold + iridescent white sequins
Cotton string
Floral wrapping paper (Paper Source is a great place to find this)

Scissors
Double-sided tape

Start by wrapping your boxed gift with the wrapping paper of your choice. The trick is to always use double-sided tape for a neat streamlined look. Set the wrapped box aside and string some sequins onto your cotton string. Mix them around a bit to create variance. Once you’re got the desired amount of sequins on, simply tie the string around the box (sequins on top, of course) and secure with a knot on the bottom of the box. If you want, you can even slip a mini card + envelope under the sequins.

Gift Wrap: Desert Cactus

May 5, 2016

Fabric can be a fun way to gift wrap. When I came across this tribal print one, I was instantly in love. Here’s what you need to recreate this look:

Square kraft box
Geometric/tribal patterned fabric (I picked up mine from Mood Fabrics)
Gold glitter string
Green paper in a shade matching your chosen fabric

Scissors
1/16″ hole punch

Cut out a square piece of fabric. The piece should be big enough so that the edge flaps overlap each other generously. Pull each of the four corners together, pull it tight, and secure with a piece of the glitter string. Next, find a shape of a cactus that you like and cut out that shape out from your green paper. Punch a hole and loop some more glitter string through it. Secure to your wrapped gift. I thought about adding some glittery touches to the cactus cutout, but opted to keep it simple since the fabric already had enough pop. If your chosen fabric is simpler, decorating the cactus would definitely be a fun touch!
