Your Custom Valentine

Valentine’s Day (as you must know) is fast approaching. This is a day you definitely don’t want to pass up telling your sweetheart how much he/she means to you. A custom Valentine just might be the ticket. Whether it be how you two met, what your favorite activity is to do together, or a dream that you two have — telling that story to your love through a card means a whole lot more when that story is on the front as well, not just on the inside. (Click here to see some of my favorite custom cards I’ve made.)

I’m already putting together some of the cutest custom cards and I can’t wait to share how adorable they are coming out. For the privacy of my customers, you won’t get to hear the stories behind the cards unless the customers are okay with it, but I’ll definitely be showing you the cards at least. Some of my favorites, I must say!

So I just wanted to send out this little note to let you all know that I’m still accepting orders for custom valentines, through February 8th that is if you want it before Valentine’s Day (and even later if you’re okay with receiving the card after Valentine’s Day). Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Gift Wrap: Mixing Patterns

I remember the days when I was terrified to mix patterns and textures. I’m still a bit uneasy about mixing patterns still when it comes to what I’m going to wear, but when it comes to packaging, I’m all in. Inspired by yesterday’s inspiration palette, here’s a gift wrap idea for you.

One thing about mixing patterns is that it’s the safest to mix them when they share the same color(s). Sometimes, throwing in a small amount of contrasting color adds some fun. For this one, I wrapped the gift up in black + white polka dot paper that I printed at home. I tied up the package with blue chevron twill ribbon, made a flower out of a napkin I picked up at Target, dabbed watermelon-colored puff glue to add some texture to the gift, and finished it off with a pink glitter tag and a gem stone brad.

Custom Card: A Wedding Planner’s Desk

Some months ago, I got to put together a set of custom cards that someone wanted to send to wedding vendors that he wanted to connect with, namely wedding planners and coordinators. The challenge was to create something that would work for both sexes, so I tried really hard to steer away from general wedding themes. Therefore, I had more fun with this than I had anticipated.

At the end of my brainstorming session, I put together what the desk space of a wedding planner/coordinator might look like — a journal, a checklist, pencils, scratch paper, a cup of coffee, and even a color swatch book that you can actually flip through!

Real Wedding: Kaity + Geoff

Just recently I’ve had the honor of getting one of my brides’ weddings featured on the lavish Canadian wedding blog, WedLuxe — along with my stationery. What a thrill! You might remember the couple’s stationery + wedding video that I put up on the blog last September, but in case you forgot, here’s a refresher for you with photos from the couple’s wedding photographer, Alex Albojer of Life Images.

But what you didn’t get to see last time was all the paper goods that I got to put together for the couple’s reception. And goodness, was this wedding beautiful! The flowers were absolutely gorgeous (done up by the talented Sweet Woodruff) and I loved the mix of gold, silver, and pink in all the details.

Baby Girl on the Way

One of my friends is having a baby! I’m always giddy about these things and was even more giddy when she asked me to put together some holiday-themed baby shower invitations. I usually wait until after an event happens before I put up the invitations, but I’m going to have to make an exception for this one because it’s Christmas-y and if I don’t put it up today, it won’t be able to go up until after the New Year. That will certainly not do! So here you are…

Printed on smooth white cover paper, the mother-to-be requested a crane flying a baby and a little ribbon announcing the pending arrival. With green and red as the color scheme, we wrapped it up with a beautiful verse from the Bible that says it all: James 1:17 – “every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.”
